FYI, per DetroitRedWings.com’s Carley Johnston:
Christian Fischer says that a phone call with Jay Varaday (whom he knew from Arizona) was what helped seal the deal for him to come to Detroit yesterday #LGRW

Christian Fischer on the zoom with a Bushwood Country Club Caddyshack hat haha. Big golf guy! #LGRW

Fischer giving a Gostisbehere scout report, says after some injuries and moving around a bit, that Shayne is starting to get back to his game and that he's a, "damn good player." #LGRW

I love Christian Fischer's energy #LGRW

Per DetroitRedWings.com’s Carley Johnston…
James Reimer on the @DetroitRedWings "Stevie's obviously putting his finger print on the team and I think everyone around the league can see what's going on here. I'm excited to be a part of that." #LGRW

— Daniella Bruce (@daniellabruce_) July 2, 2023
Reimer talked about sharing/competing for net with Husso. Says as much as they're both going to want to play in net for the team, it's more about working together and helping each other out for team success #LGRW
— Carley Johnston (@carleykjohnston) July 2, 2023
From DetroitRedWings.com’s Carley Johnston:
Shayne Gostisbehere on being more of a "mentor" now in the league, at 30 y/o, what would he tell younger offensive D-men? "The big thing is confidence. When you're losing the confidence and it's not going your way, less is more. Keep It simple. Let the game come to you." #LGRW
— Carley Johnston (@carleykjohnston) July 2, 2023
Shayne Gostisbehere says he can play both sides on defense, obviously noteworthy for the Red Wings who are deeper on the left than the right
— Max Bultman (@m_bultman) July 2, 2023
Gostisbehere on being a South Florida-native, how'd he get into hockey? His Grandpa is from Montreal, they had tickets for Panthers #LGRW
— Carley Johnston (@carleykjohnston) July 2, 2023
Gostisbehere says his Grandpa, who he credited to getting him into hockey, will text him after a game if he doesn't have many shots on net 😂 hats off to Gramps, he's helped make Shayne an offensive defenseman #LGRW
— Carley Johnston (@carleykjohnston) July 2, 2023
Per DetroitRedWings.com’s Carley Johnston:
JT Compher says he's close with Dylan Larkin and Andrew Copp, went to University of Michigan with the two of them #LGRW
— Carley Johnston (@carleykjohnston) July 2, 2023
Compher says he's played center, both wings. He enjoys playing center more, but likes playing at whatever position that will help the team with success #LGRW
— Carley Johnston (@carleykjohnston) July 2, 2023
I'm excited to have JT Compher here with the Wings, you can tell he's happy to be in Detroit. Seems like a good locker room guy, can't wait to get things started #LGRW
— Carley Johnston (@carleykjohnston) July 2, 2023
JT Compher spoke a lot about his experience in Colorado. Specifically going through the rebuild process and ultimately winning a Stanley Cup. Hopes he can use that experience to help the @DetroitRedWings get there too. #LGRW
— Daniella Bruce (@daniellabruce_) July 2, 2023
Per the Red Wings’ Daniella Bruce:
Daniel Sprong now addressing the media. He's excited to join the Red Wings and specifically helped with scoring. He felt he improved his overall game in Seattle last year. Mentioned both goal scoring on the power play and 5 on 5. #LGRW
— Daniella Bruce (@daniellabruce_) July 2, 2023
And EP Rinkside’s Sean Shapiro:
Daniel Sprong said he knew for a while he'd be a UFA. He would have had a strong arbitration case, Seattle wasn't wanting to go down that route.
— Sean Shapiro (@seanshapiro) July 2, 2023
Ditto for Carley Johnston:
Daniel Sprong on having a career year last season– says he played better defensively, physical. Offensively, he says It was nice to get some power play opportunities. "I'm a shooter." #LGRW
— Carley Johnston (@carleykjohnston) July 2, 2023
Per Daniella Bruce and Joshua Kloke on Twitter:
Justin Holl addressing the media now. He said he really likes the roster in Detroit. "There's a lot of good pieces here." Added that he likes the moves made yesterday and can bring a 2 way game and a steady presence on the back end. #LGRW

New Detroit Red Wing Justin Holl on the noise that came with his time in Toronto: "What doesn't kill you makes you stronger." pic.twitter.com/Qa9SivaOV3
— Joshua Kloke (@joshuakloke) July 2, 2023
Justin Holl when asked how he can contribute to helping Detroit score more goals, having played with some dynamic goal scorers in Toronto– he says a lot of it has to do with driving play up the ice, which he feels is a strong suit of his game #LGRW

Detroit Hockey Now’s Kevin Allen discusses the Red Wings’ potential UFA targets, presuming that the team uses some of its $9 million in remaining salary cap space:
Tyler Bertuzzi, Boston Bruins:
Bertuzzi wants a home run contract. He wants a long-term deal for a noteworthy deal. The Bruins want to keep him, but how could they make it work. The Florida Panthers would have to get very creative.
Patrick Kane, New York Rangers:
We hear several teams are interested, even though Kane is coming off hip resurfacing surgery. He won’t be ready to play until after the holidays.
Vladimir Tarasenko, New York Rangers:
Proven scorer, but it doesn’t seem like a team wants to give him term.
Matt Dumba, Minnesota Wild:
Right-shot defenseman. That makes him more valuable. Teams are running out of cap space. Will he have to lower his asking price?
