Via the Detroit News’s Gregg Krupa on Twitter, The Athletic’s Joe Smith reports the following regarding the health of one Mathieu Joseph, whose face got punched by Dylan Larkin after Joseph checked Larkin into the boards head-first:
Mathieu Joseph said he feels good, was initially “sluggish” after Larkin punch. He went through protocols and is all good to play tonight for @BallyLightning— Joe Smith (@JoeSmithTB) October 16, 2021
Mathieu Joseph on hit on Larkin: “Borderline hit from me. Never want to injure the guy. It happened really fast. The puck jumped over his stick… I was already committed. I tried to push him. With the speed I had, it looked like I was hitting him from behind. I hope he’s okay.”— Joe Smith (@JoeSmithTB) October 16, 2021
We hope he’s okay, too, but we don’t know yet as Larkin is “under evaluation.”
