It’s been a while since I’ve been able to man the blog on a day-to-day basis, so here’s my health update as of February 26th:
I’ve been battling consistent and debilitating fatigue for the last four months. I am able to get online during Red Wings games and write “Tweecaps,” which are better than nothing at all…
But “off-days” require full days’ worth of rest and recovery, mostly in bed, to recuperate from the energy expended during games (and the daily grind of caregiving for Aunt Annie, from which I receive no recovery time).
I’ve spent too much time sleeping, skimming stories, and feeling fairly gloomy about my situation. I’ve been to my doctor’s office several times to have blood tests, with sketchy results for my iron and hemoglobin, so I’m headed back to see a doctor in early March regarding my latest blood test’s results…
And I turned 48 in February, so, in unrelated news, I’m having a colonoscopy on Monday because my Uncle Johnny died of colon cancer many moons ago.
I’ve been as proactive about taking care of my health as possible, but nothing I do seems to help. That’s yielded some fairly significant depression and some anxiety, but I still want to be a Red Wings blogger, Aunt Annie supports this, and I still believe that, sometime this year, I will make a return to the blog on at least a somewhat limited daily basis.
In the interim, not having the blog income has stung our budget, so you know what happens next. I haven’t asked for help regarding the Tweecaps, but if you can lend a hand, we’re underwater money-wise:
If you’re willing to lend a hand, we have aPayPal option at https://paypal.me/TheMalikReport; there’s Venmo at https://venmo.com/george-malik-2; if you’re into the, “I don’t want to sign up for any of those websites” option, here’s always the Giftly option by using my email, rtxg@yahoo.com, at https://www.giftly.com…
And in terms of banking options, you can contact me via email if you want to send me a paper check or cash (ask for my address), or “Zelle” me via my email, rtxg@yahoo.com.
That’s where we’re at. I’m trying my damnedest to get better, but it’s not happening yet, so I keep on trying again every day.
