It’s a Red & White Game Tweetcap!

Updated at 5:28 PM: It may have been just a scrimmage, but the Red & White Game was incredibly fun to watch. Coach Todd McLellan’s emphasis on players playing with their “foot on the gas pedal” was evident in what was a fast-paced, intense and sometimes (when Mo Seider was on the ice, anyway) physical game that resulted in a 3-2 win for the White Team.

Here are some highlights from the game in Twitter form:

So Team White won 3-2, and in the shootout…

If you like text, here’s MLive’s Ansar Khan’s recap, too:

The 6-8 Soderblom scored a pair of goals Sunday in the Red & White game at Van Andel Arena in Grand Rapids as the Red Wings wrapped up four days of training camp.

They will open the preseason Tuesday against the Chicago Blackhawks at Little Caesars Arena (7 p.m., livestreamed on DetroitRedWings.com).

Amadeus Lombardi set up both of Soderblom’s goals. The first was a snapshot off the rush against Cam Talbot in the first period. He was parked at the side of the net when he fired in a pass from Lombardi past Michal Postava in the second period.

Alex DeBrincat also scored for the White team, which won 3-2.

Jonatan Berggren and Emmitt Finnie scored for the Red team.

They wrapped up with a seven-round shootout, which Lombardi ended by firing a backhand shot past Sebastian Cossa.

Marco Kasper scored the slickest shootout goal, going from forehand to backhand a couple of times to beat Cossa.

Raymond, Berggren and Andrew Copp also scored in the shootout.

Red Wings GM Steve Yzerman and the Wings’ brass also apparently held a Q and A with season ticket-holders before the game:
