Red Wings GM Steve Yzerman revealed two items of note during his post-second-day-of-the-draft presser, as noted by The Athletic’s Max Bultman and the multi-talented (EliteProspects, DLLS Sports, Shap Shots, and more) Sean Shapiro:
Yzerman says Red Wings Head of Goaltending Scouting and Development Phil Osaer is leaving for an opportunity in the business sector

Steve Yzerman says as of this point he doesn't have any plans for buyouts

The first bit of news is a shock to me because Osaer did a good job as a “goalie whisperer,” and he will be missed by the Wings’ prospects; the second bit of news is a shock, period. I can understand trying to give Vladimir Tarasenko another year, but Justin Holl is Persona Not Great right now, and that’s going to be a tough sell to the paying public.
