Per Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman:
Sounds like Anaheim is acquiring Ville Husso from Detroit for future considerations. Some extra depth in organization

UPDATE: The #RedWings have traded Ville Husso to the Anaheim Ducks in exchange for future considerations. pic.twitter.com/Tsj140lUfc

This would clear $3.6 million off of the Red Wings' cap sheet (after the $1.15M savings from burying his contract), so a little extra room for Detroit to maneuver if they choose to before next Friday's deadline. https://t.co/D4LYe4T6qL

🚨Trade

To #FlyTogether
Ville Husso, Yr 3/3 $4.75M
To #LGRW
Future Considerations (nothing)
While buried in minors, Husso carries a $3.6M Cap Hit. He'll earn $1.31M in cash for the remainder of the seasonhttps://t.co/36vgMWJGtR
After trading Husso & saving $3.6M annual cap hit, #LGRW now have $3M projected cap space. This can fit $14M in annual cap hit at the deadlinehttps://t.co/Kn3CNj8yne

Since Husso is in the minors, if the $3.6M annual cap hit #FlyTogether took on is considered dead cap hit & pure cap relief, the PuckPedia Perri Calculator shows the market return for that is a 3rd Round Pickhttps://t.co/USF8qpSsvF https://t.co/W2TC2AQWmB pic.twitter.com/7Sqbh4ub0H

This is a favor done to Husso by Steve Yzerman and former Wings assistant GM Pat Verbeek, who now helms the Ducks. It’ll be fine sans compensation.
Update: The Hockey News’s Derek Lee explains why the Ducks added Husso:
The Anaheim Ducks have acquired goaltender Ville Husso from the Detroit Red Wings. The Ducks’ goaltending depth has been depleted recently with Tomáš Suchánek suffering a torn ACL prior to the start of the season and Calle Clang now month-to-month with an injury of his own.
John Gibson is currently day-to-day with an upper-body injury, forcing the Ducks to recall Oscar Dansk from the San Diego Gulls. That left Vyachselav Buteyets as the sole healthy goaltender for the Gulls.
The Ducks were able to address that issue by acquiring Husso for future considerations on Tuesday. He will report to the Gulls.
There was no retention on this Husso trade. https://t.co/W2TC2AQWmB
