Alex Chiasson, Austin Watson earn pro try-outs to attend Red Wings training camp

Of note from the Red Wings’ training camp press release:

The team has invited two players on pro try-outs with NHL and/or AHL aspirations:

Center Alex Chiasson, a 33-year-old who played for both the Red Wings and Griffins in 2022-2023, but did not play this past season;

And gritty winger Austin Watson, 32, who played for the Tampa Bay Lightning this past season. Watson’s agency informed the world that he’d been invited to the Wings’ training camp on August 28th.

Every other player on the Red Wings’ roster is a Red Wings-contracted player, a member of the Grand Rapids Griffins, or free agent amateur try-outs who participated in last weekend’s Prospect Games.

  1. What happened to amateur tryout Dylan Edwards? Don’t see him listed for the main camp.
