Of Red Wings prospect-related note:
In the Champions Hockey League, Michael Brandsegg-Nygard posted an assist, finishing at +1 with 2 shots and a faceoff won in 13:44 of ice time, but Skelleftea AIK lost 3-2 in a shootout to the Straubing Tigers.
Red Wings Prospects and IceHockeyGifs both captured Brandsegg-Nygard’s assist…
Not sure why Michael Brandsegg-Nygård (1st round’24) isn’t being credited with a secondary assist here. He forechecks well gets the turnover and makes a pass out front. Rebound put home. In the nhl it would definitely be credited as an assist. #LGRW pic.twitter.com/fQ4FFXuWkK

And a couple of shifts, including one where Brandsegg-Nygard was used as the “bumper” on the power play:
Here’s a look at Michael Brandsegg-Nygård (1st round’24) in the bumper. Made a few plays. I still prefer him on the flank. #LGRW pic.twitter.com/rvEtjxEUuZ

Brandsegg-Nygard will now come to the U.S. to take part in the Red Wings’ prospect showcase and main training camp. He’ll miss at least two SHL games, but the Red Wings want to see what MBN has to offer against North American competition.
Update: Here are the game’s highlights:
