Steroids and sinus specialists

Hello again, friends. Here’s an update on the Great Sinus Infection of 2023, and the person who’s got it (me):

I’ve had my third doctor’s appointment on Wednesday, and I got tested for COVID, influenza, HIV and Hepatitis B (all negative, thankfully), but my doctor can’t determine why my body is still in a fatigue funk, so I’m going to take a course of Prednisone to try and boost my immune system.

I do terribly badly on steroids, but after two courses of heavy antibiotics, I guess the job right now is to suck it up and try my best to get through it without going completely bonkers.

This upcoming Monday, I will see a sinus specialist, and we will try to get some answers there. As I’ve previously said, more corrective sinus surgery is likely in my future, though it’s more like a “tune-up” is needed than another severe surgery, which I had some 20 years ago.

I miss you and I miss blogging, so I’m doing my best to get better here. Putting in the work and dealing with discomfort is just part of the job description right now.

I hope to see you soon. Take care.
