Quinnipiac men’s ice hockey senior captain Odeen Tufto (Chaska, Minnesota) and senior goaltender Keith Petruzzelli (Wilbraham, Massachusetts) have been nominated for the 2021 Hobey Baker Award, as announced on Monday, Feb. 1.
Tufto and Petruzzelli are two of 50 nominees this year for the Hobey Baker Award, and two of just three from ECAC Hockey. This is the 41st year of the Hobey Baker Award, presented annual to the top NCAA Division I Men’s Ice Hockey player.

Quinnipiac has had three players in its program history named as finalists for the Hobey Baker Award, most recently Chase Priskie ’19 who reached the Top 10 last season. Reid Cashman ’07 was selected as a Top 10 Finalist in 2005 while Eric Hartzell ’13 was Hobey Hat Trick finalist in 2013, reaching the final three.

Quinnipiac men’s ice hockey goaltender Keith Petruzzelli (Wilbraham, Massachusetts) has been named to the Mike Richter Award “Watch List,” as announced by the Hockey Commissioners’ Association (HCA) on Tuesday, Feb. 2.
Petruzzelli is one of two goaltenders from ECAC Hockey and one of 36 goaltenders in the nation to be named to the Mike Richter Award “Watch List.”
A committee of voters – made up of a cross section of coaches, administrators, scouts and media – will pare this list down to approximately 15 names within the next two weeks and then ultimately choose the winner who will be announced in April during the NCAA Frozen Four.
Petruzzelli is in the midst of one of his best seasons yet as a Bobcat as he leads the nation with 18 games played, second in the nation with four shutouts and third with 10 wins. He owns a 10-5-3 record along with a .929 save percentage and 1.79 GAA.
He finally got a legit shot as a Senior and is killing it. Cant wait to see this guy become a top goalie prospect….hopefully
