Prospect Round-up: Seider posts assist, Petruzzelli and Quinnipiac win again

Of prospect-related note from Saturday, December 26th:

In the ICE Hockey League, Calvin Pickard served as the back-up in the Vienna Capitals’ 2-1 loss to the Black Wings Innsbruck.

I’m curious as to why Pickard is still in Europe if he’s still in the Red Wings’ AHL goaltending plans, but the signing of Kevin Boyle last fall probably means that Boyle will start the year on the “taxi squad,” with Pickard recalled before the start of the AHL season;

Jesper Eliasson stopped 22 of 24 shots in the Red Bulls Salzburg’s 2-0 loss to HCB Foxes;

In the SHL, Moritz Seider had an assist, finishing even with 2 shots in 22:48 played as Rogle BK won 3-1 over Leksands IF:

Albin Grewe finished at +1 with 1 shot in 8:06 played in Djugardens IF’s 5-2 loss to the Albert Johansson-less Farjestad BK;

The Lucas Raymond-less Frolunda Indians won 4-3 over Linkopings HC;

In the USHL, Chase Bradley finished at +1 with 3 shots in the Sioux City Musketeers’ 4-3 loss to Waterloo;

Kyle Aucoin finished at +1 with 2 shots in the Tri-City Storm’s 5-2 loss to Lincoln;

And in NCAA Hockey, Keith Petruzzelli stopped 34 of 37 shots as the Quinnipiac Bobcats won 8-3 over American International University.

  1. Good question, Pickard had a Goalie school my son attended. Seemed like a good guy.

    Will see when the AHL starts. Calvin never lived up to expectations after WHL.

    I assume this short season will have many questions, Krakin included.
