Roughly translated: Moritz Seider’s first practice with Rogle BK is ‘short but tough’

Moritz Seider skated in his first practice with SHL team Rogle BK today, and after he skated, he spoke with Rogle BK’s website‘s Lasse Mauritzson about his experiences. Here’s a rough translation of the interview:

Moritz Seider after the first seassion: “It was short, but tough”

Last Saturday, he watched his new teammates step up and take the league lead after a stable 3-1 victory over Örebro. Today he took part in his first real training session with the team. And now Moritz Seider longs to wear the game jersey. At the same time, we note from Monday’s pass that Anton Bengtsson, who stepped off last Saturday, was involved in coaching the entire practice.

Last Friday night, 19-year-old German defender Moritz Seider arrived in Ängelholm. The German super talent is on loan to Rögle by the NHL team. Detroit Red Wings this season. He sat in the stands last Saturday and saw his new team defeat Örebro 3-1 and step up on the league lead of the SHL.

“It was a fun game to watch. It was a high tempo, a lot of skating and very intense in the defense zone. There are many smart players. Special teams seem to be very crucial. We have a good team that competes all the time,” Moritz surmised afterwards.

“I want to put on the game jersey and play a game,” he says with a wide smile.

Monday’s practice was the first joint team practice for Moritz. In the lineup, he was paired with Eric Gelinas.

“I don’t know what it means, we had no game situations or played 5 on 5. We will see later in the week, I hope to be on the bus for the away game,” says Moritz.

Rogle has two away games on the schedule this week, first to Brynas on Thursday and then Leksand on Saturday before the bus returns to Southern Sweden again.

What would you say about the first practice then?

“It was quite short but tough. It was a good pace and the guys are skilled. I’m happy to be here and long to start playing games.”
