The Wings take one of my favourite “sleepers” I identified earlier. Alec Regula is a project. But is a defender who could be an impact player down the line if everything comes together. Size, skating ability and skill on the back-end. Still learning the game.

Regula is a big, strong defender with good hockey sense. Good gap control. Moves pretty well for his size. Among draft eligible CHL defenders, he ranked 10th in ePoints/60. Might have a little more to give offensively.

There’s a lot to like about Regula, starting with his size at 6’4” and 200+ lbs. Scouts suggest that Regula is a good skater for his size, though he still has work to do in that area
