Side effects may vary

Day 2 of the Red Wings’ training camp begins in 10 minutes, and there’s just no way that I’m going to be able to cover it this morning. I’m still struggling from the physical effects of going into hibernation for a week, and instead of putting a timeline on things, I’d prefer to suggest that I’ll be back as soon as my body and brain let me work.

I desperately miss covering camp and I just want to get my ass back to work on a daily and regular basis. The anxiety attack I had was sustained for all five days that I missed, and it may knock me down again today, so I’m still in the middle of the fight. As soon as it subsides enough for me to battle through it, that’s what I’ll do.

I’m sorry for the inconvenience, and it sucks for me, too.

  1. Hang in there George. Your health is all that matters right now. I don’t know if its the holidays or pandemic fatigue (trust me I only leave the house when I have to and when I do always wear a mask), but the past two months have hit me harder than ever in the anxiety department. Maybe its the doom and gloom of winter, but hopefully the vaccination process speeds up soon and the Wings can give us a little distraction until spring arrives.

    1. Israel the fastest vaccination record so far, Canada and USA bottom feeders. Covid here until end of 2021 and beyond. Israel near 9 Million People and they are seeing the END.
      Trudeau and Trump SUCK

      1. In less than three weeks we have a new administration coming in that has covid as their top priority. On top of that, the latest stimulus included $69 billion for covid relief, most of which is money for distribution and freezers that are needed before you can start mass vaccination. States can only do so much without federal support. Now that the money is on the way, things will definitely speed up. I’ll bet you anything that by May, anyone that wants a vaccine, will be able to get it. Just like we have testing sites all over the place now (at least in Wayne County they are everywhere).

    2. Yes, R91—wife & I completely agree about the prior two months.
In our situation, trying to assist a family with two little boys (2 & 4 when arrived)—father dead from OD, mother in rehab, boys with us for nearly a year. Yes, lots of fun, but the worry now starts with the two boys likely going back to their birth-mama, regardless of her long history of drug abuse going back about 10 years.
That was the start of 2020, the final tragedy for us being loss of our beloved 9 year old puppy Alfie—no standard treatment for pneumonia worked—one month and gone! Partly due to the suddenness, COVID is suspect.
Regardless, we’ve got to seek the positives to build a future.
And, btw, I generally don’t whine such as I just did, so my apologies to anyone I might have bored with my post. But I am hoping/praying that a double shot of Pfizer and 56 Wings games brighten all of our spirits! 🙂

  2. To quote a early 70’s song by Brian Auger; come on geezer’s you remember, “Happiness is around the bend.” For all of us. Stay strong, safe and happy.
