Red Wings defenseman Justin Holl was benched for the last half of the 3rd period in yesterday’s 6-3 loss to the San Jose Sharks, and he told the Detroit News’s Ted Kulfan that things…happen:
Holl was one of the players McLellan singled out postgame Tuesday who needs to play better. Holl agreed.
“You want to play the next game and get that bad taste out of your mouth,” Holl said. “If you’re going to be a defenseman in the NHL, you’re going to look dumb sometimes. That’s just how it goes. You don’t want to be that guy, but all you can do is stay confident and get right back at it.”
