Updated at 11:43 AM: The Detroit Red Wings’ probable “game day” group for Friday’s rematch with the Chicago Blackhawks practiced early this morning at Little Caesars Arena’s BELFOR Training Center:

Update: I thought the D pairs were a little funky on the handedness, and that instinct was right. Detroit’s now running the following pairs:

Chiarot Seider
Viro Didier
Lagesson Rafferty

I find it bemusing that we’re getting different lines from every beat writer. It appears that the Wings’ coaches are changing lines on the fly to see which combinations work best.
Presser quote update:
When asked how the offense can help reduce the goals against this year, Andrew Copp give a few answers:
— Carley Johnston (@carleykjohnston) September 26, 2024
1. managing the puck
2. being disciplined (taking less penalties)
3. being responsible in their own zone #LGRW
Copp said it seems that with everyone who went out (in FA), someone was brought in with a similar skill set. Makes it easier to adapt with a handful of new players #LGRW

When asked if his confidence/comfortability has grown since last year, Nate Danielson says yes, he has “comfort with the system and knowing a lot of the guys and staff… definitely feels a little bit more comfortable this year.” #LGRW

Danielson on the third line? Meh. I hope the young man does well though saddled with not so great players.
