Happy (short) summer, Mr. Kal!

Detroit Red Wings play by play announcer Ken Kal offers this end-of-the-Summer-Development-Camp wish for all Red Wings fans.

Personally speaking…

Things will start to slow down after the NHLPA releases its salary arbitration dates this afternoon, but I’ll continue to cover the Red Wings and relevant NHL news as the summer continues, and we’ll be raising funds for the Traverse City trip, too.

Whether I attend the World Junior Summer Showcase will depend on the possibility of getting the Rustbucket (the 18-year-old Chrysler Pacifica) fixed, but there’s going to be hockey content either way…

And we might discuss stuff like a TMR Podcast or TMR merch. We’ll see how the summer unfolds; right now, I’m focusing on tomorrow as my next target, because Aunt Annie’s physical therapist promised that we’ll be taking AA outside to walk with her walker for the first time since we got the you-are-OK from her orthopedic surgeon three weeks ago.

So for me, this isn’t, “See you in the fall!” as much as it is, “See you this afternoon, and then I’m taking a Gord-damned evening nap!”

In any case, I know both Mr. Kal and myself are hoping for better health over the summer and this upcoming season. Nobody likes missing out on the game they love and the fans and friends they love to share the game with.
