Fundraising waits for no one

I’ve been quite sick over the last five days, basically bedridden with an old-fashioned flu bug.

Regrettably, I’ve got bills to pay, regardless of how I feel, so I need to do some fundraising.

Put bluntly:

1. The server bill is due at the end of the month, and I need to pay about $500 to renew both the WordPress server and JetPack for the entirety of the next year. At this point, Aunt Annie and I need to plain old ask for help paying bills as well, so we’re staring at a bill of somewhere between $800 and $1,000 to try and fundraise by the time August ends in 9 days.
2. Second, we’re about three-and-a-half weeks from the Traverse City trip, and the hotel bill alone is going to be just over $2,900 to cover both myself and Aunt Annie coming up to Traverse City so that I can take care of her as I work during the prospect tournament and training camp. It’s an unusual situation, to be certain, but I can’t pawn her off on a relative and ask them to do the kind of care that takes some training to understand. Hotel + expenses –> we’re looking like we have to raise closer to $4K over the course of the entire time I’m up there. I have no idea whether that’s realistic, but it’s where we’re at.

There’s a #3, but I’m going to ask the family for help with the 17-year-old Pacifica, whose brakes squeal and whose power steering is wonky.

If Aunt Annie and I can pay our bills and pay the server bill by the end of the month, that would be fantastic.

If we can go to Traverse City, all the better.
