Here’s a translation of the introduction to the podcast:
German national team player Moritz Seider on winning the Calder Memorial Trophy in the NHL:
He’s the absolute highest-flyer in German ice hockey over the past few years. And he’s really turning it up in the NHL. So much so that, just over three weeks ago, Moritz Seider was named the Rookie of the Year in the best league in the world. Today he is a guest here on the podcast!
The last few months have been like a dream for Seider. It doesn’t get any better than this. After the defenseman performed incredibly well in Sweden with Rogle, and earned top marks, he played with the Detroit Red Wings, who loaned him out [to Rogle], and things got even better.
Seider plays well, presents himself physically and is eye-to-eye with the greats of his position. Of course, the question has to come up as to how he deals with all of this and how he processes it.
You’ll hear the answers here today, and at the same time, hear Moritz’s formula for success. He doesn’t think too much about it, he just enjoys the “here and now.” And he has full focus on his daily work on and off the ice.
He’s currently in Germany to recharge his batteries for the new season. He reveals how and why he really wants to improve his golf game, that he’s planned another holiday in Switzerland, and that he’s looking forward to his grandmother’s 70th birthday–before he gets back on a plane to North America.
With the Red Wings, Seider would like to take the next step and take on even mroe responsibility within the team.
