Per CapFriendly, here are the terms of Givani Smith’s two-year contract extension with the Red Wings, which he signed today. Not surprisingly, the salary is a one-way deal as Smith is no longer waiver-exempt:

Being Waiver exempt is a Big hurdle with these kids and their potential NHL organizations. Lots of pressure on some teams.
Smith is more likely to make the team than not, but it will be interesting to see what happens if he’s “muscled out” by Raymond or Berggren.
