As a result, Detroit has opted to buyout 37 year old forward Frans Nielsen.

I always liked Frans but his signing seemed coincide with age catching up.
Just happens to most athletes. I guess if some looney tune team can sign Thornton (Very Weird), Frans might catch on for low$$ and 1 yr term. He should retire and enjoy things outside of a Hockey Player!
