I’ve tried to keep TMR quiet and churning content out during the quieter days of July and August minus requests for funding…
But it’s time to ask for help now. In two-and-a-half weeks, I’ll be heading up to Traverse City to attend the Red Wings’ prospect tournament and main training camp.
I’m also unable to fit the combined Bluehost and WordPress bills for the website this year (due to mom’s health issues depleting my savings account)…
So I’m hoping to raise somewhere around $2,700 instead of the usual $2,000.
As per usual, https://paypal.me/TheMalikReport is my go-to funding source, though I will happily send you my mailing address for checks if you need it (email me at rtxg@yahoo.com), and I will add funding services to make your part of the equation easier if requested.
What do you get?
Form and content. It’s time to talk about ideas for content for the upcoming season at this time regardless. What are you looking for in terms of what would steer you to donate, or to join the Patreon (which is the key to me generating some regular income as opposed to event-based fundraising alone)?
Of course, we’re talking about merchandise, merchandise, where the real money from the movie is made, too! I’m all for creative ideas, and even we can do smaller-scale “meet-ups” or, “You drink my beer and we talk about hockey” events.
Is it time to get a couple-times-weekly column going? A podcast? Mailbags? Fantasy hockey stuff? More original content is obviously necessary to sustain the blog, but what kind of content are you looking for? Moreover, do you want some of that content behind a paywall, or do you want to avoid that scenario?
Please let me know. We’re undergoing the usual August growing pains–there are some community grumbles because it’s that time of year, and there’s the usual summer sinus infection for me–but it’s time to get to work now.
Add a comment, send me an email (rtxg@yahoo.com), send me a Tweet at @georgemalik, write me a poem, do what you need to make your voice heard–after all, this is supposed to be a blog that exists for its community, no matter how much or how little you head into the comments section–and if you can, please consider donating some funds to the cause.
My hope is that at some point down the line, we’ll be talking about a successful funding drive, a successful training camp and a healthier and happier regular season for all of us, with hockey trips and some equipment talk included…
But none of that can happen without your help, and I hate to ask for it, but I must.
Thanks for your time.
Have you been with George over the past few years? I have. During this time he has shown a fine understanding of our prospects. If I was next to George in a restaurant or sitting with him I would buy him a meal. Since I live in Wisconsin and can’t in person buy him a meal, I have sent him some money to do so. If you read his reports, you need to help support him. I just did. I hope you do as well.
