Via Kukla’s Korner, I’ve been waiting for this Tweet: CapFriendly has posted the Red Wings‘ salary cap situation as adjusted for the team’s LTIR space and opening-night roster:
Detroit #RedWings final 22 man roster:
13 Forwards
7 Defense
2 Goalies
2 IR
1 LTIR (Zetterberg)Projected cap hit: $85,532,111
Projected cap space: $0
Current LTIR-Relief & Usage: $6,083,333https://t.co/67Cuh1HPyi pic.twitter.com/T6z3nmN1MJ— CapFriendly (@CapFriendly) October 3, 2018
Update: As John noted on Twitter, the Wings can still utilize Franzen’s LTIR space as necessary. This is just the Wings’ initial cap-compliant, 23-man-roster-compliant set-up.
Projected Cap space $0 and short a roster player for a team that is expected to compete for the Top….draft pick. And people wonder why we dislike Kenny Holland so much.
And only 22 guys on the team and the limit is 23.
