Sportsnet’s Jeff Marek reports that the Toledo Walleye will opt out of the 2020-2021 ECHL season

Big bummer here, per the Toledo Blade’s Mark Monroe and Sportsnet’s Jeff Marek:

According to this post, the @ToledoWalleye
will not be playing this year.
Looking to confirm. https://t.co/6EZGqM4JeH— Mark Monroe (@MonroeBlade) January 5, 2021

  1. For some of the development teams, losing too much money will take a team out of the League. More prospects or younger players on Grand Rapids maybe?

    1. In this case, this hurts players like Kaden Fulcher and Filip Larsson more than anything. The Wings stash goalies in the ECHL more than other prospects.
