And Jesper Eliasson stopped 30 of 33 shots in Almtuna IS’s 3-2 shootout win over Sodertalje SK.

Tweets of note: Galli posts a Twitter teaser for tonight’s Larkin interview, and a James Bond clip of Sergei Fedorov

I love this little tidbit from WXYZ’s Brad Galli’s interview with Dylan Larkin, which will air on tonight’s WXYZ newscast:

And this brilliant bit of camera work comes from KHL correspondent Gillian Kemmerer:

This feels like the opening to a Bond film.

First time the Wings have rolled with two defensemen as Alternate Captains in, like, 40 years, IIRC. https://t.co/dfDrhrspCV— DetroitHockey.Net (@detroithockey96) October 13, 2021

Walleye training camp Tweets of note

From the Toledo Blade’s Mark Monroe:

A couple of notes from @ToledoWalleye training camp:
RW Brandon Hawkins, D Blake Hillman, and D Chris Martenet are now in camp. All three were in AHL camp with Hartford. D Randy Gazzola remains in AHL camp with Belleville (Ontario) Senators.— Mark Monroe (@MonroeBlade) October 13, 2021

Hawkins led the rival Fort Wayne Komets in scoring last season with 39 points (23 G, 16 A) in 37 games, while Gazzola ranked second on the Komets’ roster in scoring, posting 33 points (4 G, 29 A) in 49 contests. https://t.co/fWLgcq1HqF— Mark Monroe (@MonroeBlade) October 13, 2021

Tweet of note: Yzerman, Blashill to appear on tomorrow’s Bally Sports Detroit ‘Red Wings Live’

Bally Sports Detroit’s John Keating posted a Tweet noting that Red Wings GM Steve Yzerman and coach Jeff Blashill are both being interviewed for the one-hour Red Wings Live preceding tomorrow’s game vs. Tampa Bay (7:30 PM EDT start on BSD/97.1 FM):

Dobber Hockey suggests that Alex Nedeljkovic’s performance is something to watch in the fantasy hockey department

Dobber Hockey’s Brennan Des posted a list of “Early Season Storylines to Watch” in the Eastern Conference, and, from a fantasy hockey perspective, Des believes that Alex Nedeljkovic may be the most intriguing Red Wings player to watch in the early parts of the 2021-2022 season:

Detroit Red Wings – Good Goalie on a Bad Team

While the Red Wings won’t be good this season, there are a number of interesting fantasy storylines to monitor in Detroit. Will Dylan Larkin bounce back after last year’s disappointing 43-point pace? What kind of opportunity will rookies Lucas Raymond and Moritz Seider see? Will Nick Leddy or Filip Hronek be the team’s top power-play defenseman? While those are all compelling stories, I’m most interested to see how Alex Nedeljkovic follows up last year’s incredible showing. I personally think he’ll struggle this season now that he’s playing behind a much weaker team. However, a strong performance from him during these first couple weeks may give me the confidence to snag him from the waiver wire and trust him long term.

Continued; I fully expect Nedeljkovic to struggle a bit early on, but I believe that he’ll settle down and settle in as the season progresses.
