The Athletic’s Shayna Goldman spoke with Jeff Marek on The Sheet recently, and she offered a counter-argument to suggestions that the Red Wings should remove the captain’s “C” from Dylan Larkin’s jersey.

Larkin signed his name to a contract. And collected front loaded money. Big money. And has demanded to be traded. Something we have never heard in all this is from Larkin himself. Why do you reporters not call him up and ask him directly how he justifies that ?
Jim, reporters don’t have Dylan Larkin’s phone number. That’s not the kind of thing that most players (like 99%) share with the media. I wish that we could all call his agent, Pat Brisson, and just get a straight answer as to why he’s not talking, but Brisson probably won’t answer, either. 🙁
Hey Shayna, Larkin is the one that asked for the trade. He deserves to be vilified. The chicken shit bailed on the team, the city and the fans. Larkin can sit in the stands for 84 games for all I care. There was too much Team USA in his ear.
