Prospect round-up, Friday and Saturday: Walleye win in OT; Cotton posts 1G, 3A in WHL; Mazur posts 1G, 3A in NCAA

Of Red Wings prospect-related note on Friday and Saturday:

In the ECHL, the Toledo Walleye won 4-3 in overtime over the Wheeling Nailers on Saturday night. Victor Brattstrom stopped 18 of 21 shots and Seth Barton finished even with 1 shot for Toledo;

In the QMJHL, on Friday: Jan Bednar was the back-up in the Acadie-Bathurst Titan’s 9-1 win over Cape Breton;

Oscar Plandowski sat out the first game of a 4-game suspension as the Charlottetown Islanders won 7-2 over Rouyn-Noranda;

On Saturday, Charlottetown lost 5-4 in overtime to Val-d’Or.

In the OHL, on Friday, Pasquale Zito finished even with 1 shot and a 4-for-8 faceoff record in the Windsor Spitfires’ 7-5 win over Sarnia;

In the WHL, on Friday, Alex Cotton had an assist, finishing at +2 with 5 shots in the Vancouver Giants’ 3-1 win over Kamloops;

Sebastian Cossa was the back-up in the Edmonton Oil Kings’ 8-2 win over Medicine Hat;

On Saturday, Alex Cotton had a goal and 2 assists, finishing even with 4 shots in the Vancouver Giants’ 6-5 OT win over Everett;

Cross Hanas had 2 assists, finishing even with 5 shots in the Portland Winterhawks’ 5-4 overtime loss to Victoria;

Sebastian Cossa stopped 27 of 31 shots in the Edmonton Oil Kings’ 7-4 win over Moose Jaw;

In the BCHL, on Friday, Kienan Draper had an assist in the Chilliwack Chiefs’ 4-1 win over Langley;

On Saturday, Draper did not score in the Chilliwack Chiefs’ 4-3 overtime loss to Victoria;

And in NCAA Hockey, on Friday…Kyle Aucoin finished even with 1 shot in the Harvard Crimson’s 2-0 loss to Brown;

Carter Gylander stopped 36 of 38 shots in the Colgate Raiders’ 2-1 loss to Clarkson;

Robert Mastrosimone finished at -1 with 1 shot, and Ethan Phillips did not play in the Boston University Terriers’ 3-1 win over New Hampshire;

Red Savage finished even with 1 shot and a 7-7 faceoff record in the Miami of Ohio Redhawks’ 6-3 loss to Western Michigan;

Cooper Moore finished at -3 with 1 shot in the University of North Dakota Fighting Hawks’ 8-1 loss to St. Cloud State;

Jack Adams finished even with 3 shots in the University of Notre Dame Fighting Irish’s 4-2 loss to Ohio State;

And, in the University of Denver Pioneers’ 6-2 win over the Arizona State University Sun Devils:

Carter Mazur had 2 assists, finishing at +1;

Shai Buium finished even with 1 shot;

Antti Tuomisto finished even with 2 shots;

And, for Arizona, Ryan O’Reilly finished at -1 with 4 shots.

On Saturday:

Kyle Aucoin finished at -1 with 3 shots in the Harvard Crimson’s 5-3 win over Yale;

Carter Gylander stopped 22 of 26 shots in the Colgate Raiders’ 4-3 loss to St. Lawrence;

Robert Mastrosimone finished even with 1 shot in the Boston University Terriers’ 2-1 win over New Hampshire;

Red Savage had an assist, finishing at +1 with 2 shots and a 6-for-10 faceoff rating in the Miami of Ohio Redhawks’ 5-3 loss to Western Michigan;

Cooper Moore had an assist, finishing at +3 with 2 penalties taken in the University of North Dakota Fighting Hawks’ 5-3 win over St. Cloud State;

Jack Adams had an assist, finishing even with 5 shots and a 5-and-1 faceoff record in the University of Notre Dame Fighting Irish’s 5-1 win over Ohio State;

And, in the University of Denver Pioneers’ 7-1 win over the Arizona State University Sun Devils:

Carter Mazur had a goal and an assist, finishing at +1 with 4 shots;

Shai Buium had an assist, finishing even with 1 shot;

Antti Tuomisto had an assist, finishing at +2 with 2 shots;

And Ryan O’Reilly had an assist, finishing at -1 with 3 shots for Arizona.
