Rebel Nell unveils Joe Louis Arena Locker Room Collection

Detroit-based jewelry company Rebel Nell partners with Detroit Red Wings Foundation to release unique line of items from The Joe’s locker room seats

DETROIT — The Detroit Red Wings called Joe Louis Arena home for 38 years, with hundreds of great players roaming the locker room which saw the club win four Stanley Cup championships, six Presidents’ Trophies and 16 division titles.

And now, Red Wings fans have a chance to secure a unique piece from the iconic Detroit arena’s home locker room with the Joe Louis Arena Locker Room Collection, in partnership with Detroit-based jewelry company Rebel Nell.

Two years after an initial partnership with the Red Wings, in which Rebel Nell released a jewelry collection made from fragments of Joe Louis Arena’s exterior, the company is introducing the Locker Room Collection, which features reclaimed materials from The Joe’s locker room seats.

“The Detroit Red Wings Foundation is extremely excited to once again partner with Rebel Nell for the Joe Louis Arena Locker Room Collection,” Red Wings and Tigers director of community impact Kevin Brown said. “Many great Red Wings players enjoyed countless memorable moments at Joe Louis Arena, and we’re proud to help keep The Joe’s legendary legacy alive with this unique jewelry collection.”

The new collection’s items preserve the rich brown leather that boasts aged lines and history from the seats used by Red Wings legends like Steve Yzerman, Sergei Fedorov, Nicklas Lidstrom, Darren McCarty, Brett Hull and many more, making every piece truly unique.

The collection is comprised of several types of items for men and women, including earrings, rings, necklaces, bracelets, money clips, wine stoppers and more, with a portion of the proceeds benefiting the Detroit Red Wings Foundation.

As with all of Rebel Nell’s special collaborations, each item also includes a special card which details the history of the piece.

“Our partnership with the Red Wings is very near and dear to our hearts,” Rebel Nell co-founder and CEO Amy Peterson said. “Our first collection using exterior pieces from Joe Louis Arena was hugely successful and still our biggest collection to date. This time, we wanted to go deeper into the halls of history and bring the fans an item that they likely wouldn’t have had a chance to see in person.

“An NHL locker room is an exclusive place, and with a storied franchise like the Red Wings, we preserved a tremendous amount of nostalgia into a piece you can cherish forever. It is an honor to provide these collector’s items for Red Wings fans, especially during the time of year when people want to give something of deep meaning.”

The Joe Louis Arena Locker Room Collection is now available online at DetroitRedWings.com/TheJoeCollection and at Rebel Nell’s two retail locations — Downtown Detroit (1314 Holden Street) and in Novi at Twelve Oaks Mall.
