Friday prospect round-up: Edvinsson 2A at 4 nations; Griffins beat Manitoba; Zito 3+1 in OHL, Mazur 1+2 in NCAA

Of Red Wings-prospect-related note from Friday afternoon and evening:

In the Swedish Allsvenskan, both Gustav Berglund and Albin Grewe were injured in Mora IK’s 3-2 loss to Bjorkloven;

Jesper Eliasson was the back-up in Almtuna IS’s 3-1 loss to MoDo;

And Filip Larsson was the back-up in HV71 Jonkoping’s 4-3 overtime win over Vasterviks IK;

In the Four Nations Cup, Eemil Viro finished even with a penalty taken in Finland’s 6-3 loss to Russia;

Simon Edvinsson had 2 assists, finishing at +1 with 2 shots, and William Wallinder finished at +2 as Sweden won 5-0 over the Czech Republic;

In North America, in the AHL, Turner Elson and Riley Barber scofred goals and Calvin Pickard pitched a 34-save shutout in the Grand Rapids Griffins’ 2-0 win over the Manitoba Moose. The Griffins’ website posted a recap, photo gallery and highlight clip:

In the ECHL, Kaden Fulcher was the back-up in the Toledo Walleye’s 3-2 loss to Wheeling;

In the OHL, Pasquale Zito had a goal and 3 assists, finishing at +1 with 3 shots in the Windsor Spitfires’ 7-3 win over Sarnia;

In the WHL, Alex Cotton scored his team’s only goal, finishing at -1 with 4 shots in the Vancouver Giants’ 6-1 loss to Kamloops;

Cross Hanas had an assist, finishing at -2 with 4 shots in the Portland Winterhawks’ 4-2 loss to Seattle;

In the BCHL, Kienan Draper finished even in the Chilliwack Chiefs’ 3-0 win over Victoria;

And in NCAA Hockey, Kyle Aucoin finished even with 3 shots and a penalty taken in the Harvard Crimson’s 6-3 loss to Clarkson;

Carter Gylander stopped 23 shots in the Colgate Raiders’ 5-2 win over RPI;

Robert Mastrosimone finished at -1 with 6 shots and Ethan Phillips didn’t play in the Boston University Terriers’ 2-2 tie with UMass;

Chase Bradley finished at -1 with 2 shots in the UConn Huskies’ 2-1 loss to Boston College;

Carter Mazur scored a goal and added 2 assists, finishing at +2 with 5 shots in the Denver Pioneers’ 5-3 win over Western Michigan. Shai Buium had an assist, finishing even with 1 shot, and Antti Tuomisto finished at +3 with 1 shot for Denver;

Cooper Moore finished at +1 with 2 penalties taken in the University of North Dakota Fighting Hawks’ 4-1 win over Miami of Ohio. Red Savage finished at -1 with 2 shots and a 4-for-9 faceoff record for Miami;

Jack Adams finished even with 1 shot in the University of Notre Dame Fighting Irish’s 5-1 win over Wisconsin. Sam Stange finished even, going 5-for-7 on faceoffs;

And Ryan O’Reilly finished at -3 in the Arizona State University Sun Devils’ 5-3 loss to Quinnipiac.
