Prospect round-up: Veleno wins showdown with Seider; a well-dressed Brome; Berggren’s Swedes drop Channel One Cup opener

Updated at 1:13 AM: Of prospect-related note:

In the SHL, Joe Veleno had an assist on the game-winning goal, finishing at -1 with 3 shots and 18:34 played in the Malmo Redhawks’ rare 3-2 win over Rogle BK. Moritz Seider finished at -1 with 1 shot and 1 blocked shot in 22:37 played.

As per usual, IceHockeyGifs on Twitter has some Seider .gifs to share:

Elsewhere, Mathias Brome showed up in style for the Orebro Hockey team…

But Brome’s team had a rough game. He finished at -2 with 1 shot in 22:34 played as Orebro lost 6-1 to the Frolunda Indians, who played without any Red Wings prospects;

At the Channel One Cup in Moscow, Jonatan Berggren didn’t register a point in Sweden’s 4-3 shootout loss to Russia;

In Belarus, Kirill Tyutyayev finished at -1 in Yunost Minsk’s 3-1 loss to Neman;

In the ICE Hockey League, Michael Rasmussen finished even with 5 shots in the Graz99ers’ 3-1 win over Black Wings Steinbach;

In NCAA Hockey, later this evening, Antti Tuomisto and the University of Denver will battle Miami of Ohio (at 8:35 PM EST);

And a little earlier, Ryan O’Reilly and the University of Arizona will tangle with Ohio State (at 5:30 PM EST).

Update: Antti Tuomisto finished at -3 with 1 shot and 1 blocked shot during the University of Denver Pioneers’ 3-0 loss to Miami of Ohio;

And Ryan O’Reilly had an assist, finishing at +1 with 3 shots, in the Arizona State University Sun Devils’ 4-4 tie with Ohio State.

  1. I am a big fan of Joe Veleno. His maturity reminds me a bit like Larkin. He keeps getting better as he plays more.

    Good guy, Good Prospect!!
