Prospect Round-up: Hronek 1+1 plus 12 shots for Mountfield HK; Veleno scores; Seider delivers assist, massive hit for Rogle (and a cool Raymond highlight clip)

Updated at 10:01 PM: Of prospect-related note this afternoon in Europe:

In the Czech Extraliga, Filip Hronek scored a goal and added an assist, finishing even with 12 shots(!) and a lost faceoff in 29:21 played as Mountfield HK lost 4-3 to BK Mlada Boleslav;

Filip Zadina didn’t play in HC Ocelari Trinec’s 6-0 win over HC Vitkovice Ridera as his loan to Trinec has been terminated (and he’s got an injury).

Trinec’s Twitter account was kind enough to inform me that Zadina will return to the U.S. on Friday, missing the Channel One Cup. Hronek won’t play in the Channel One Cup, either

In the SHL, Joe Veleno scored the game’s first goal, finishing even with 4 shots in 18:57 played as the Malmo Redhawks won 2-1 over HV71. Here’s his goal, from C More:

The Theodor Niederbach and Lucas Raymond-less Frolunda Indians, also playing without captain Joel Lundqvist, lost 5-1 to Djurgardens IF. Albin Grewe finished at -1 with 2 shots and 4 hits in 12:39 played for Djurgarden;

Finally, Moritz Seider had an assist, finishing at +3 with 4 hits in 22:41 of ice time as Rogle BK lost 4-3 to the Albert Johansson-less Farjestads BK in a shootout.

Here’s his assist, from the must-follow IceHockeyG (IceHockeyGifs) on Twitter:

IceHockeyGifs was watching Seider closely all game long, as well as during intermissions…

This hit just before overtime was particularly impactful:

IceHockeyGifs also compiled a Lucas Raymond-with-Frolunda highlight clip:

In North America, in NCAA Hockey, Antti Tuomisto and the University of Denver Pioneers will battle Western Michigan at 4:45 PM EST;

And Keith Petruzzelli and the Quinnipiac Bobcats will play Sacred Heart at 7 PM EST. I’m not sure whether Petruzzelli will start because he played on Monday night, stopping 13 of 15 shots in a 9-2 win.

Update: In the USHL, Kyle Aucoin finished at +1 with 3 shots in the Tri-City Storm’s 4-2 loss to Des Moines;

In NCAA Hockey, Antti Tuomisto had an assist, a shot and a blocked shot, finishing at -1 in the University of Denver Pioneers’ 3-2 win over Western Michigan;

Keith Petruzzelli stopped 19 of 20 shots as the Quinnipiac Bobcats won 2-1 in overtime over Sacred Heart University.

  1. Was Hronek the only player on the Mountfield team, nearly 30 mins ice time, took a faceoff, 12 shots, 1G 1A, even plus minus. And his team lost.

    I doubt I have seen individual stats for a DMan that equal Hronek’s, maybe pond hockey, lol.

    When he lives his bad team will be worse. Safe to assume he is in great shape!

    1. Hronek may have played his last game for Mountfield, but he’s been great, posting a point per game, and he’s certainly getting his minutes in!
