Keeping a promise to Feedspot.com

The website Feedspot.com approached me a couple of weeks ago, asking me to plug their “Top 15 Detroit Red Wings Blogs” post as I rank 9th on their list.

There are some surprising picks and omissions on the list (and I’m stunned that Winging It in Motown didn’t crack the roster), but it’s worth at least a glance and a couple minutes of your time–and kudos to Detroithockey.net’s Clark Rasmussen for ranking so highly!

My name is George Malik, and I'm the Malik Report's editor/blogger/poster. I have been blogging about the Red Wings since 2006, when MLive hired me to work their SlapShots blog, and I joined Kukla's Korner in 2011 as The Malik Report. I'm starting The Malik Report as a stand-alone site, hoping that having my readers fund the website is indeed the way to go to build a better community and create better content.

  1. Congrats on the high ranking George. You’ve always given us a fantastic blog, whether it’s here on your own or when you were at Kuklas. I personally, would put you in top 5. You’ve always given us news when it hits, some personal perspective of red wings issues and even dive into the things going on In Your personal life. To me you give the reader a feel that we know you, like you’re a personal friend to us. You do good brah! Wingsnation and OctopusThrower and very fantastic blogs as well IMO. Not shocked to see WiiM not ranked. They don’t really provide much information anymore. They slipped you get quick hits editions each day and little quips when news hits. Their prospect coverage has been very poor (a paragraph or 2 and stats) with nothing really in depth since Dr.Dangles stopped doing them for them. Anyways, keep it up George. Also, how short are you on your laptop funds. I’m waiting for a paycheck to throw some funds in your general direction. Thank you for all you do George and know that you mean a lot to the Red Wings fan community.
