Here are the Red Wings’ picks (officially) for the 2018 draft

The NHL released its Order of Selection for the 2018 draft in Dallas next Friday and Saturday, and the Red Wings’ picks are as follows:

1st round, 6th overall

1st round, 30th overall (from Vegas)

2nd round, 33rd overall (from Ottawa via NYR)

2nd round, 36th overall

3rd round, 67th overall

3rd round, 81st overall (from Philadelphia)

3rd round, 84th overall (from Pittsburgh)

4th round, 98th overall

6th round, 159th overall (from Montreal)

6th round, 160th overall

7th round, 191st overall

  1. 4 Picks from 6 to 36, (pretty good 1st 4 picks, if KH doesn’t trade them?

  2. Earlier this off-season, I was OK with Kenny trading pick to move up if there was a clear #2 defenseman after Dahlin. There isn’t.

    So stick around 6…unless the draft really turns bad not in your favour…

  3. I find myself bracing for the reality that Bouchard and Dobson will probably get picked up. I then turn my focus to Boqvist and Hughes. It’s hard to know where enthusiasm is best placed. Hughes can flat out skate, Bouchard has size and a shot. Boqvist could be a sneaky good pick
