Red Wings-Bruins morning skate Tweets and articles: B’s lose McAvoy for 4 weeks, will start Khubodin, Wings start Coreau

Updated 2x at 11:56 AM: Coreau starts vs. Khubodin.

The Detroit Red Wings face a stiff challenge in attempting to snap a 7-game losing streak against the Boston Bruins this evening (7:00 PM EST on NBCSN/Sportsnet/TVA Sports/NESN/97.1 FM).

The Bruins preceded the Wings on to the ice at TC Garden, as is customary for the home team, per the Boston Globe’s Kevin Dupont

Bruins about to hit ice here at TDGarden. Prax here all week. Good chance for new B’s roster players to acclimate to nuances of Garden boards/ice.

The Patriot-Ledger’s Mike Loftus

Tuukka Rask has joined #NHLBruins optional AM skate. 2 goalies, 3 defensemen, 10 forwards skating.

The Bruins…

Who released the following update

On Tuesday, March 6, Boston Bruins General Manager Don Sweeney issued the following update on defenseman Charlie McAvoy :

Charlie sustained a sprain of his left MCL and will be re-evaluated in four weeks. The injury occurred on March 3 in the first period of the Bruins game against the Montreal Canadiens at TD Garden.

So Loftus weighed in (among others)…

Re-evaluation of #NHLBruins D Charlie McAvoy in 4 weeks comes with 3 games left in regular season, about a week-plus before playoffs.

As did NESN’s Mike Cole

The Bruins adding Nick Holden, Brian Gionta and Tommy Wingels is looking pretty smart right about now, which is not a thought I’d expect to have this season.

And the Boston Globe’s Fluto Shinzawa talked lines:
Tonight’s defense: Chara-Carlo Krug-Holden Grzelcyk-Miller Anton Khudobin in net.
Lines: Marchand-Riley Nash-Pastrnak DeBrusk-Krejci-Rick Nash Heinen-Backes-Gionta Schaller-Kuraly-Wingels
Ditto for Joe McDonald:
Pairs tonight vs. Red Wings. Chara-Carlo Krug-Holden Grzelcyk-Miller
After the Bruins’ skate, per BostonBruins.com:
Lineup updates per Bruce Cassidy: Tommy Wingels is in for Noel Acciari tonight.
Matt Grzelcyk will play on the third pair next to Kevan Miller.
Nick Holden will play on the right alongside Torey Krug.
Anton Khudobin will start.
And, per the Detroit News’s Gregg Krupa:

The Red Wings hit the ice for their morning skate just before 11:30, per DetroitRedWings.com’s Dana Wakiji…

The Red Wings also said, “Hello”…

As did the Detroit News’s Gregg Krupa:

Interesting…

Update #2: The Free Press’s Helene St. James also weighed in:

Erm, uh…

Meanwhile, from Bruins coach Bruce Cassidy’s presser, per the Bruins

Cassidy on Tuukka Rask: “Tuukka is out skating today. He’s feeling better…We’ll make a decision after the skate, talk to Tuukka and if he feels if he had to go in and he could do it, he would back up. Otherwise we would look at a goaltender from Providence.”

After the skate…
