Here’s what Kicker.de says about the podcast:
Seider & Stützle – New Hockey Podcast by kicker and Ice Hockey NEWS
Rivals on the ice, and now partners at the microphone. NHL stars Moritz Seider and Tim Stützle go amongst podcasters and share insights from their lives on the ice. What stories unite the two national players.
The 2026/2027 NHL season has begun, and seven German stars are firmly under contract. Two of them have sought a “side hustle” just in time for the league start. Seider & Stützle is the new kicker ice hockey podcast by and featuring Moritz Seider (Detroit Red Wings, 25) and Tim Stützle (Ottawa Senators, 24).
The national team players have known each other since days together in the offspring of the Adler Mannheim. They competed for Germany at the Olympics and call themselves very good friends. In the summer, they spend their holidays together and push each other to top performances in training, on the beach or on the improvised soccer field in the vacation home.
Apart from former MVP Leon Draisaitl (Edmonton Oilers, 30), Seider and Stützle are considered the best German ice hockey players. Seider is among the league’s strongest defenders, while striker Stützle scores excellent goals year after year.
Stützle loses his buddy Tkachuk, and Larkin sits on packed suitcases
For both players, the summer was turbulent. In both Ottawa and Detroit, a top star wanted to leave the team. Stützle’s teammate and good friend Brady Tkachuk has been traded to the Florida Panthers, while Detroit’s superstar Dylan Larkin continues to sit on packed suitcases after his publicly-demanded trade.
The Germans, who are under contract with their teams until 2031, are now waiting for significantly more responsibility. Seider is now considered a captain-to-be on the traditional Michigan franchise, having quickly been labeled as a mis-purchase in his 2019 draft commitment. It is precisely this emotional roller coaster that Seider speaks openly in the podcast and makes it clear.
In the podcast, however, Seider and Stützle don’t just want to talk about the 60 minutes on the ice. It is important for them to honestly report on their exciting but also stressful everyday lives. What goals does Mo set for the new season? How is Tim involved in his community in Ottawa? What do they miss about their German homeland?
The German homeland will inevitably also become a topic in the podcast. Seider and Stützle are very dedicated to further promoting their sport in Germany and sparking a new enthusiasm for ice hockey. The opportunity is almost probably never [this great] before. First, Stützle is with his senators on December 18th and 20th in his native Düsseldorf as a visiting player. The reason is the NHL Global Games against the Chicago Blackhawks.
In addition, the Ice Hockey World Championships will take place in Cologne and Mannheim in May 2027. Seider and Stützle want to be there, but are in the classic NHL dilemma, as they are no longer likely to be represented in the playoffs at this time.
