The Detroit Red Wings are preparing for a busy schedule which begins with a game against the Toronto Maple Leafs on Thursday, and MLive’s Ansar Khan reports that one member of the Wings’ injured defense made an appearance at Wednesday’s practice:

  1. Flipping Goose and Aby? Goose is heading South, I mean will he make it to the 4th Line or the Hot Dog Stand. Aby adds meat for Larkin/Mantha, line.

    It is hard to see that Cholo will leave a Big Hole in the Wings D? How things change in a hurry.

    The way I see it, Abby on the 1st line is a joke. I was just lamenting this morning how we have to endure 5 more years of Abby (including this year) @ $4.25M/yr…..for basically a 4th line player. Arguably the worst contract on the books right now.

  3. Nyquist is not strong enough to deal with the physicality and the constant interference with this league. I feel the same about Zadina.

    But moving Abby up? I rather see Lil’ Bert in there. They looked great together during the preseason.
