  1. Wilson’s contract makes Abbey appear more deserving of his contract…..but that’s meaningless….

  2. gator isnt in wilson league , wilson a very deadly hitter and can also throw . then chip in his 40 points . plus just proved how valuable he was doing the grunt work for two talented line mates , and hes way younger than gator . their contracts arent comparables . their worths cant be measured in just goals and assist . wilsons thee premeir hit man in nhl right now and his , though dirty and shoulda been suspended , on marsesualt or how ever its spelled set the stage for caps cup win . from then on knights heard footsteps because they know wilson can hit hard as anybody and as often as anybody get into the positions to make the hits

  3. Maybe by most numerical comparables the Caps are overpaying.

But they just won a Cup with the guy playing at least some of the time on their top line. I think Wilson has no respect for his opponents and acts like a total dirtbag but there’s a reason they spent a 1st round pick on a player like that. With the space he creates and playing with skilled players he still has upside. And they’re paying him for his prime years.

As for Abby, he’s really a different type of player. Still overpaid at too much term. By by the Wings standards he’s a physical player and can at least fit in part-time on any line.
